Our New Home

Our summer adventure begins...  we have made the plan and are making the move.
Psalm 31:3 For You are my rock and my fortress;
For Your name's sake You will lead me and guide me.

For a couple of years now we have prayed and asked the Lord to make His plans clear to us.  As many of you know, we have had the desire to move out of state (Colorado) for a couple of years, but was not able to make the jump of faith.  Although the desire was strong for Colorado, our securities in California grew and grew stronger.  Our housing situation was good, our job was good...  our church a blessing.  However, the longer we stayed in California, the deeper our desire to leave became.  It wasn't that we were unhappy or unsatisfied, actually is was just a feeling that grew deep within our hearts and caused us to become unsettled.  We prayed often for open ears to hear the Lord clearly if He was trying to show us that our desires were not inline with His will for us.  But it wasn't until my dear friend gave some wise councel that changed our lives.

In a conversation, my friend pointed out Psalm 37:3-5, 7a:  "Trust in the Lord and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him."  Knowing my heart for Christ, my friend challenged me to take a step of faith.  She graciously pointed out that sometimes the enemy will use so-called securities to keep us from God's perfect will.  Her challenge to us was to take a new road of faith and ask the Lord to remove our securities if it was indeed keeping us from the desires that we believed He planted in our hearts.

Well, guess what happened?  Yep!  Two days later after taking that challenge to pray boldly, my husband lost his job. I guess most wives would be upset and fearful of the future, but I was excited!  In fact, I jumped into my husbands arms when he came home and praised God for answered prayers!  Immediately our eyes were openned.  From that point, we saw things fall right into place within a matter of days.  Everything from interviewing someone to rent our CA home to finding a house in Colorado...  a tenative job, a homeschool friendly neighborhood, a strong Biblical church, etc.  Amazing!

This is only the beginning of our story...  one that I am sure will show God's grace, mercy and joy.
