We went to a tea party in Sacramento, CA. It was an amazing time. We took the light rail -- absolutely packed (normally our light rail system runs at 50% or less mid-day) with patriotic, kind people. Several older folks, with tears in their eyes, said things to my children such as, "I'm 82 years old and am just now being a part of history! What a blessing for you to be a part of history already!" Our train-car actually sang God Bless America on the way downtown. I thought for a minute I had popped into some sort of magical traveling machine -- certainly I couldn't be in California anymore!!
It was a neat day and the crowds renewed my hope that America hasn't rolled over dead just yet!
