Maybe she IS a little too "sheltered?"
Last week Barngirl attended horsemanship camp at Clemson University.
She was excited about getting to stay on campus in the dorm. The first night I asked her what she thought of the dorm.
"Well...................I still want to go to college, but......"
I'm sure it was standard dorm-room fare, but no doubt she perceived it more like this:
Anyway, one evening her group's chaperone took the girls down to the basement where the vending machines are. Barngirl only had a $5 bill, so she found the change machine and fed it her $5 bill, only to receive back a fistful of quarters. She didn't want all those quarters, so looked for the machine to turn her quarters into dollar bills.
Right next to the change machine there was another machine that had the slots for quarters. So she fed 4 quarters into the machine.
And the dryer started.
Apparently, she's never seen a coin-operated dryer.
Never really thought about taking a field trip to a laundromat. My bad.

kim...this was priceless. austin and madison got a kick out of the story too. (not that they've ever BEEN to a laundromat before...) perhaps we should go with you.
