Show and Tell Friday
Posted in Show and Tell Fridays

Hello everyone!!! I'm glad you stopped by for today's Show and Tell!!! If you'd like to join us or you just wanted to see what others are sharing, please stop by our host Mary's site @ Canadagirl!!!
As I sat down today and tossed around a couple of ideas as to what I would share, my mind started to wander to thoughts of what I have to do today ~ what's going on this weekend~ I better get my run in before the heat of the day kicks in...(remember ADOS?) that's where it stopped. I had an 'A HA'moment. C'mon, you all have them too. I'm not the only one. My 'A HA' was that I could share what I've been doing diligently for the last 8 months!!
Last January at a New Year's Eve party with some friends from church this picture was taken of me...

Now, faced with the reality of this picture,(and motivated by the fact that we were travelling back to my hometown in May for my 40th birthday with my twin) I took matters into my own hands. I started working out and watching what I ate.
Through A LOT of hard work, sweat, tears and many a morning of NOT WANTING TO WORK OUT AGAIN mentality I can show you all this picture ~ taken this morning by Kung Fu and in the same outfit as that fateful first picture...

...43 lbs later and in the best shape of my life!!! I am eating healthier ~and consequently so is my family~I can do more with my kids and not be out of breath. And I FEEL better!!! For me it wasn't a diet. It's a lifestyle change!!! Best change I've EVER made!!! If I can do it, anyone can!!!
Best of all, that morning workout time is my time with my Lord. It's fabulous!!! Now the mentality is 'I can't wait to spend time with Him!!!' I'll do it this way for as long as I can!!

Wow! You look great!
I wish I could do that. Actually, I need to go see a naturopath, I think. I have been to doctors, personal trainers, nutritionists! I have excercised and eaten right for years and am gaining and gaining and gaining. I think it is a metabolic problem, but my doctors cannot find a problem at all, but they have seen my food and excercise logs and agree that if I am telling the truth (which I am!) than my situation makes no sense.
Anyway, all that to say... I am thrilled to see that you DID succeed! Yay you! :)

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome accomplishment! I am where you were in January...so encourage me! I have lost some but still have 33 to go. What a blessing to exercise with the Lord! I had not thought of getting up to do my exercise first. ( I have arthritis in many places and mornings are rough). Maybe I should give it a try. Thanks for sharing your story!
LOVE the new design! I have really come to enjoy playing with my template and being creative in that way.
Black Eyed Susans will grow in AZ no matter how dry. They do not need fabulous soil...just water! They are orginally a wildflower.

I am so proud of you, Robyn. I can't remember you looking like that, but perhaps it's that you always look beautiful because of who you really are. It is inspiring, though, to see you then and now. Hmmmm...YMCA here I come!

That is so cool! I am happy for you! I was on track, had a hard blow so family health issues, responded to the Lord correctly but failed with my eating and gained all I lost back then some. Needless to say I knew I needed to get back on track and the lord has used you to do so. Thank you for being an encouragement to me.

Congratulations, that is a great accomplishment!!!
Thanks for your visit and comments on my blog - yes my son (and some of the others in our group) did touch the water on the zipline, and got splashed good and proper! LOL And the restaurant did have hammocks around the patio. My son went to lie down on one of them and a bird had been there before him. My Tide pen saved his shirt. LOL
Blessings,
Kym

Praise Jesus! It's not that you look fabulous, it's that you have found time to spend with our Lord and regain your health.

WOW! Great Job! You look great- healthy! I need to get into a workout too. I have started Weight Watchers and lost about 6 lbs by eating the right foods. I eat more than I did why trying to diet but I am eating the RIGHT things. I just need to make time to exercise to kick up the pace. It has been almost 2 months so I am doing okay but can't wait until I can have a great after picture! Thanks for the motivation. I keep telling myself to go exercise but keep doing things with the kids or around the house. Great idea- making it time with the Lord, too.
Have a great weekend!

You look great! All that self-discipline and perseverance paid off. Not to mention "delighting yourself in the Lord." :-)
I'm at your "New Year's Eve" point right now...well a bit past it. I've finally given up my "love"...Cherry Coke. But I can already see a difference. I've still got a bit to go, but after givien birth to 6 children...it didn't go on quick, so I don't expect it to come off overnight...Although that would be nice. :-) LOL Thanks for the "motivation" to stick with it.
