Show and Tell Friday

Posted in Show and Tell Fridays

TGIF!!!!!!!! And if it's Friday, than this must be Show and Tell!! And if this is Show and Tell Friday, you'll need to please go see Mary over @ Canadagirl to get the details to join us for the fun!

We did it!! We started school this week!! WHAT?! I know. Some of you must be thinking...'Does she KNOW it's almost November?'

Yes, I know what time of the year it is. We school through the summer. It's WAAAAAYYYYY too hot in the summer here to do much outside so we do school. That way we can take time to play outside when it seems everyone else is holed up inside!!! It's a trade-off! : }

Here is what I had waiting for the boys on the first day of school...

They loved it. It seemed to make the day very enjoyable!! Kung Fu Panda even commented that they'd never gotten presents on the first day of school before!!! : }

I gave them their school supplies that we had purchased a few months ago when the stores were having their sales. The supplies have been sitting in one of the baskets I cleaned out earlier this year as part of my Anti-Procrastination project.

They didn't seem to care!! The idea of getting their 'stuff' as a gift was a HUGE hit. I'll probably do this every year!!

Well, this has been a great first week of school!! It only seems fitting to end it with a fun Show and Tell!!

How fun to start school this way ! I pray many blessings on your schooling !

And yes I have to agree with you. What better way to end a week than a chance to share at the end of it. Gotta make it fun !

Great idea, 1st Day of School gifts. I need to learn to have more fun with stuff like that. We changed our "schedule" (in quotes because it is VERY loose) this year, too, to doing school thru the summer months. We finished up our first quarter about three weeks ago and we're on break to enjoy the nice weather. But the weather has not cooperated very well. Still in the 90's down here. I am thinking about unschooling, lol. We'll just stay on vacation til the wind starts blowing!

What a great idea to make it a party!
And how smart to start now and use the heat of the summer for indoor activities.

Happy first week of school! They kids look thrilled with their new school supplies. My kids would love to start in November, but they wouldn't want to work through the summer. lol

If I lived in a hot climate, I would do the same thing. :-)

Hi Robyn! Thanks for stopping by my blog. :) You know, we do the same thing in regards to when we do school. We take the majority of our "summer" break in the spring, then school through the hot summer. Great minds think alike. : )

Hugs,
Amanda
