Dangerous Wonder

Gardening, Driving and Popcorn
Okay, so today was a little crazy!...
We had dance class for the 3 kiddos this morning which is normal sat.
routine as of sept.(30 minute drive from home) What wasn't normal was
the fact that my youngest had a birthday party to go to immediately
after her class (25 min. away) and mommy had procrastinated too long
and was buying the gift during her lesson and frantically drove back to
pick her and her brother up....6-8 minutes late! We drove like crazy
people and actually made it to the party only being 11 minutes late. I
then turned around and drove back to pick up my oldest from her class,
but had to pause to fill in gas (was on fumes...sigh) and was
successfully 10 minutes late for her pick-up. We then drove all the way
back to the party with a near colision because I wasn't paying
attention and picked up the kids and went home. I don't really want to
add up the amount of miles, gas or time I spent this morning being the
commuter mom.
We arrived at home and because it was an insanely gorgeous day out, I
told the kids that mommy was going to garden! So I set forth to tearing
out my entire flower bed (the largest mind you) to start over and plant
all my cool new bulbs that had arrived yesterday. I wanted to salvage
the tulip bulbs I planted last fall, so I was carefully going through
every ounce of dirt. I recovered most of them without killing
them, but the sun was setting and the pesky mosquitoes were attacking
me by the time I was close to finishing this project of tearing out
plants! So now I have the bulbs old and new waiting for Monday to
continue my project! It's going to look awesome come spring...I hope!
Being that this morning and afternoon were full of exhausting things
(commuting and gardening), I felt incredibly unmotivated to cook
dinner. So I served popcorn to the kids. I know...filling! HA! At least
it was from my stove top and not the microwave! Well, after bathtime
they all were asking for food (big suprise!) and I then began making
eggs and toast. 30 minutes after their normal bedtime, I was finally
tucking those precious people in to sleep.
Now I am ready to collapse and slumber till my exhausted husband
saunters in at 3am from work. What a crazy exhausting day! Where oh
where has my lazy summer gone? I'm just glad that I did get to enjoy
playing in the dirt on such a beautiful fall day. The leaves are so
golden and yummy...it makes up for all the other "stressers" today. A
breath of fresh air is what I needed and it was inhaled gladly! Thank
you Jesus for such beauty to behold in our surroundings!
