~Chapter One~
~Chapter One~
Seventeen Years Later
Jeremy sat down in aisle seat in the second aisle of First Class, ready for a nice, relaxing trip. He had hoped that the person sitting by the window would be talkative....but it didn't look like the guy was very friendly. Dressed from head-to-toe in black, with a lip ring at the corner of his lower lip, a couple spiky necklaces and a don't-mess-with-me expression, this guy definitely did not look friendly. So Jeremy turned his attention to the girl sitting across from him. She looked nice, but drowsy, and he was sure she'd be asleep soon.
Ian looked next to him; the guy had his headphones on. Good, he thought to himself. Ian was not what you'd call an extremely social person. He was a loner, a reject, and he didn't want to start being outgoing now. He thought of his mother's last words to him before he left, "Don't get close to anyone, and no one will ever be hurt." They were strange words coming from your average mother. But coming from his mother, this was everyday advice. She wanted to keep him away from the world; away from pain and fear. But in the deep core of his being, he knew he had endured far more pain and fear than he needed to.
Soooo.....how was that?
