IF you are here for the Open House, I am not good at reading directions Our plans this week, hopefully this week we will find out if dh gets the job he has interviewed for three times. Please if you feel led pray for him, it would be a great job. And one that he would really enjoy, one that would keep him busy with lots of different things. He is a big multi-tasker and this would be great for him. This week with our school we are studying Child Immigration and Labor Issues in the 1800's. We are going to be learning about the reform that took place, child labor laws and strikes. We are continuing to work on our Statue of Liberty project, we are suppose to be finishing up this week but it is not going to happen this week. We are still waiting for our co-op schedule to come out, it will most likely be this week since we are going to be registering at the end of this month. I am in hopes to talk me dd into taking Sign Language, so she can get a jump start on some more of her high school credit. Plus I think she is very talented in that area. One year while we were at the beach she came across a girl in the ocean who was deaf.She was able to sign to her and dazzled her cousins at the same time. She had taken a co-op class while in 5th grade but they had not finished even half the book, well about a week after co-op ended she was ground and so she just finished the book. The child remembered everything she was taught and learned on her own. Monday the kids will turn in there first essay with our new curriculum-CQLA. We in the past have used Classical Writing which came with its own grading system. So I was rather bummed yesterday when I realized I need to make up my own. Ohhh well I know this will work better for my kids anyway, I can tailor it to each kid. So I was up until late hours working on that but I will not have to do that again for awhile.
