In light of my post yesterday on the Church of Oprah, Dh and I have decided to take a closer look at what we are teaching in our homeschool and why.  We have been very academic the last 6 years of homeschooling.  I have worried over what Math programs to use and this year the big worry has been what Chemistry program to use.  I have never really pondered on what Bible curriculum to use.  Don't get me wrong, we feel strongly about living, really living our Christian walk.  We read the Word of God and we meditate and memorize.  These things are important to us.  However, sometimes they can be lax and put on the back burner for a spelling test or writing assignment.  I believe that that mentality needs an adjustment.  I believe that my children need to be more prepared for a life of warfare with Satan and His spirits here on earth.  1 John 3:24-4:6

We are looking at using a curriculum called Student of the Word next year.  It looks to be very Bible intensive.  Has anyone used it and what are your thoughts?

Have you ever looked into the Heart of Wisdom Bible curriculum?
Robin Sampson has created a lot of wonderful curriculum, and also has created a homeschool plan that uses several different methods. It is more of a philosophy. If you are interested in finding out more, she has a free download of 70pp. of her book, the Heart of Wisdom Teaching Approach online. There are also downloads of sample lessons for you to look at.
