Jan. 17, 2008 - The Star Spangled Banner

The Star Spangled Banner was wrote by Francis Scott Key.  Mr.Key was prisoner by the British during the battle of Fort McHenry he had not slept for 38 hours watching the battle he was hoping he would see the red, white and blue banner waving proudly at the fort.  Then he saw the British ships leaving he saw slowly red white and blue.

"O, say!  can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?

"And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say! does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
