Welcome to My Blog!
Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for!
I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all!
This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here.
Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do!
Blessings!

Is the Glass Half Empty or Half Full?
Posted in Mom Things
*Previously published on my old blog site.*
I was doing a lot of dishes this morning. Sadly, I've let them pile up a couple days. While I was at it, I decided to do the extra bonus dishes: the dogs' food and water bowls.
As I was finishing the first of the dog bowls, I muttered something about disliking doing dishes in a major way. For those of you who know who Brother Lawrence is, I am not him. *sigh*
My older son sized up the situation pretty quickly.
"Hey, Mom! Look at the up side! Look at how many dishes you've done!" he exclaimed.
"Yeah, I guess you're right," I agreed flatly.
"No, really! Look at how many you've done! I'm really proud of you for that!" he added emphatically with a smile.
"Hmmm. I never looked at it that way," I said.
I probably should have considered his perspective long before he shared it. The things we learn from our kids! Brother Lawrence learned probably this and a whole lot more...just from doing dishes. |
