Welcome to My Blog!
Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for!
I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all!
This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here.
Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do!
Blessings!

A Day in the Life of. . .a Toad
Posted in Boy Things
*Previously published on my old blog site.*
This was my yesterday. As you remember, I have two boys. My younger son is frequently referred to as my "Habanero Boy" or "Hambone" in an affectionate way. Yesterday was an interesting thing. Please tell me I'm not the only one who has had these tragic moments. . .
We were getting ready to leave for a friend's house. Before lunch, I allowed my son to play outside, and then called him in to eat. He didn't come quickly, and he was moving quietly. (I know, I should have gotten a clue from that!) Oops.
My son came in and was rather disconnected from me, but ate his lunch. After that, we hopped in the car to go enjoy some time with our friends. I was talking on the phone while we drove, so I don't think I noticed too much in the backseat. Driving and conversation had my Mommy Skills maxed out. Still, it was a fairly pleasant ride.
More than an hour had passed at our friend's house when an adult came out to let me know that my son had a toad in his pocket, and it didn't look good for the toad. :( (Yeah, it really *didn't* look good for the toad.) When I caught up with him, he had the toad in the bathroom with him and was wiping him off with wet Kleenex. Oh dear.
We had to free the toad, for however much longer he was going to live. It was really very tragic.
When I asked if he had the toad in his pocket all the way from our house in the car, my son replied, "No! He wasn't in my pocket in the car! He was fine! He was hopping around on the seat!"
Oh dear.
Am I the only one that has these things happen????? |
