Welcome to My Blog!

Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for! I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all! This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here. Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do! Blessings!

Snapshots in the Lives of Boys

Posted in Boy Things
*Previously published on my old blog site.*

Tonight I was cleaning out my wallet and found a picture of my boys tucked away in one of the photo holders. It wasn't the most recent picture of them. In fact, it was probably when my second son turned about a year old.

I jokingly commented to my older son, "You haven't changed much since this was taken."

He responded, "Well, other than the short arms and legs, no."

This makes me realize that it's all a matter of perspective. I really saw the resemblance, but assumed my son would say there was no similarity at all to the baby-faced sweetie grinning in the picture. But, no, he saw what I saw. To him, it was just. . .him.

I found the school identification cards from two years ago in my wallet, too. Wow! What a change from the sweet baby faces to first grade and preschool. The older has a serious, mature expression. The younger has his "nice face" on for the camera.

They clean up well, I think. Both of them are quite handsome in my eyes. (I'm disconnecting my phone when these two hit junior high!)

I love my boys! They are growing up so fast. Why didn't someone warn me that would happen? A few years, and my job description will be very, very different.
