Welcome to My Blog!
Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for!
I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all!
This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here.
Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do!
Blessings!

The Big Meteor. . .
Posted in Boy Things
I decided to spend a little time in the Bible with the boys before they headed off to their grandmother's house with my handsome husband, who was giving me an opportunity to sleep and rest and try to beat the plague germs I'm fighting. (Thank you, dear husband!)
Anyway, I have a plan. Knowing Good Friday and Easter are coming, I thought we would do the ground work to prepare for it. So, we took a break from Proverbs and went into Genesis to take a look at the beginning of the story of sin. Simple enough. We talked about what God really said, and what Eve said He said. We checked out God's line of questioning, the "Blame Game" Adam and Eve played, and the consequences.
The kids made the connection between Satan and the snake without any problem. I'm sure they've covered this a few times over the years in church. I wasn't surprised by that at all. And then. . .
(We pause the current program for these brief messages. . .)
My sons have heard about the theory of a large meteor striking the earth and being responsible for the dinosaurs becoming extinct. This is the helpful background information that you need for what comes next.
(We return to our regularly scheduled program. . .)
And then. . .Habanero took a moment, looked me square in the eyes, and asked, "Was the big meteor that killed all the dinosaurs. . .was that Satan falling from heaven with his angels?"
Ummmmm. Hmmmmmm.
I told him that it was a very, very, very good question. I was pretty sure the Bible didn't say that, specifically, but that he should save that question for someone who can really answer it well. (I only know One who can answer it right.)
I love the way this kid thinks!
