Welcome to My Blog!
Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for!
I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all!
This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here.
Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do!
Blessings!

Curiosity. . .and Good Friday
Posted in Celebrations!
So, last night's post leads to this morning's little wondering session? I'm so curious. What will your church be doing during the Good Friday services, if you have them?
Our church has a very special service that has become a very meaningful and powerful tradition. Normally, I'm not one for traditions, as they can become habits that lose impact. This, however, is not the case here.
Imagine a small worship team. Lots of smaller, more intimate services (for a church of several thousand regular attenders, not including all the guests). Imagine low lights, meaningful music, and teaching intended to communicate the need for a Savior, the power of that Savior, and the accessibility of that Savior!
Imagine taking a few moments (for those who have not prepared in advance) to consider and write down the sins they have against God, everything they want the Savior to take away, on provided sheets of paper. The moment is so impacting!
Imagine everyone in the service taking those sheets of paper with all of the sins and nailing them with real hammers and nails to really big, wooden crosses. The hammering can be so profound, and sometimes almost deafening.
Imagine taking communion in light of these moments.
Imagine the crosses brought to the front of the room, set up for all to ponder in silence, and praising God for the forgiveness of those sins. . .and ALL sins!
It gets me every time! I start preparing for this service long before we walk in the doors.
I'm so curious if other churches do similar things, or if they have some very unique traditions. Please share, if you like. :')
