Welcome to My Blog!

Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for! I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all! This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here. Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do! Blessings!

The Thursday We've Been Waiting For!

Posted in God Things
Roughly 50 Thursdays are in any given year. Some people are enjoying the habit of being thankful each Thursday with the Thankful Thursday meme. It's a wonderful practice that each one of us could grow in and be blessed! Sometimes I have taken time to write up an unofficial Thankful Thursday post. I've always enjoyed the opportunity to remember the wonderful things that have been placed especially in my life for growth and blessing.

Choose any Thursday of the year and lay a "thankful lens" on it, and it will be a sweet day of appreciation and praise to the One who is our Jehovah Jireh (God the Provider). Perhaps we'll connect to various names by which God introduces Himself to the world. After all, He is our Provider, Healer, Lover of our souls, and so much more!

Any Thursday could be taking place, but this is a very special Thursday. This one is chosen to remind us of Jesus' new covenant with us. It is this day we choose to remember the very special feast Jesus celebrated with His disciples. This is the day we contemplate the beginning of our Communion tradition. Oh, how sweet it IS!

Whether you have had the opportunity to experience a Beth Moore study, I don't know. I have to say that one of the most precious moments in study that I've had came out of her Jesus the One and Only study many years ago. She taught about the Last Supper in ways I wish every pastor would teach. It was so clear. It was so informative. I highly recommend it. I will never look at the Fourth Cup of the feast in the same way. . .ever.

But, this isn't a commercial for a teacher, or her materials. This entry is the beginnings of my contemplation of the final hours in the life of Jesus, our King! It is now that I turn my heart and mind toward the innocence. . .

and absolute ugliness. . .

and the sacrifice. . .

and the amazing love. . .

and the beauty of. . .

Jesus and the Cross.

May you have a blessed weekend. May you find Jesus meeting you in a personal and fresh way in these days during your contemplation of all that took place. May your forgiveness of sins be real and forever. As we think about His pain and suffering, may we identify with it in new and powerful ways! May we all be made NEW AGAIN as we turn our eyes to the amazing, grace-filled, free, but COSTLY gift of Jesus on that cross for each of us. Praise Him who values us so much that He would surrender all. . .for little old us.

Blessings to you, friends!
