Welcome to My Blog!

Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for! I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all! This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here. Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do! Blessings!

Things You Never Knew About Me

Posted in Tickling the Funny Bone
One of my favorite blogger friends, Kellieann, asked me if the little Sergeant Pepper musing yesterday was all mine. Admittedly, friends, I have a rather odd sense of humor. This may come as a surprise to you, but there is a bit of a goofy side to me. There are times when it comes out, and the humor seems to have a life of its own. Honestly, I get on a roll once in a while, and it's possible for me and those in close proximity to be laughing so hard it hurts. (And most of the time it's about me! I'm laughing at myself!)

Well, for those of you who were curious, you will get the occasional peek into my goofy side here and there. . .mostly here.  ;')  Where did this come from you ask? You'd have to ask my mom. Her side of the story would go something like this:

When Jennifer was a little girl she had a time in her life when she was exploring humor. Not knowing the territory, and not sure of the limits and bounds, she explored the whole of humor. . .often. She told what we would call "Jennifer Jokes" for several years between about the age of 4 and 7 years old.

While not exactly proud of the humor, I'll share one of my classic favorites:

"Why did grasshopper cross the road?"

*ahem*

"He was safety-pinned to the chicken."

Many of the jokes had about that level of hilarity and clarity. Oh, well. I've grown in the area of "funny" over the years. I promise!

Just so you know, some of us have already guessed about your goofy side. And some of us like it!

My ds would love to meet you to teach him a few tricks. I can't think of any examples (you will thank me) but he used to explore humor as well. His jokes and riddles made absolutely no sense at all. Yours sound pretty good.
Blessings,
Laurie
