Welcome to My Blog!
Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for!
I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all!
This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here.
Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do!
Blessings!

Mindful Meanderings
Posted in Mom Things
Today is Friday. I'm thankful for this day, and possibly more than usual. You see, it's rained again in my neck of the woods. I'm used to having a gut response to this kind of weather, just wondering what might be lurking in my basement. But, today I hear the sump pump thundering away beneath the stairs and the sound of water sloshing out to the drainage area (whether legal or not) and am blessed! (Insert sigh of contentment here.)
I have the opportunity to bless a friend in the Blog Universe today with a package containing something which blessed me and now will bless her. (That's so much fun for me!) I can't wait to pop this in the mail today!
Now, what's the substance of this particular entry? Assuming it could be considered substance, I was leaning toward a study and survey I've recently worked through with my ladies in a small group. The study was about John the Baptist. The survey was a passions, gifts, and skills kind of thing. Maybe you've taken one of those. Maybe not. I enjoy the process to a point. I've taken various forms of this kind of survey more than once. It sort of became a game, actually. Don't tell anyone in leadership at my church, but I've tried different mindsets each time. I've tried the following:
"I'm going to give the answers I really want to give, hoping I'll get what I want."
"I'm going to give the answers I think I'm supposed to give."
"I'm going to answer without thinking too much and see what happens."
"I'm going to check my answers with friends as I go to be sure I answer rightly."
"I'm going to answer in such a way that I get a completely different result."
For those of you who know me, you're laughing right now. I really do tend to "over think" things at times. I live in a pretty "heady world" of my own once in a while. :'P For those that don't know me, you might be thinking I'm trying to "break" or "throw" the test in some way. You actually might be too far off.
Want to know the funny thing? I nearly always. . .I mean, always. . .get the same results! It's near comical that I'm attempting to paint myself with my own brush to get my own results that appeal, and then God just shows that it really won't be done that way! (I've got this curious need to try, though.) :'S
So, now you'd like to know what the answers were this last time, right? By now, I hope your curiosity is piqued. *grin*
My Passions: Women growing in their walk with God. Worship! Worship! Worship!
(At one time I led the women's Bible study ministry at our church, but that season is over?)
My Skills: Mentoring, Writing/Editing, and Athletics.
(I guess my competitive nature showed up?)
My Spiritual Gifts: Teaching, Shepherding, and Encouragement.
(There are five things that line up the same way almost every time!)
Now, what to do with this. . .
My first question is going to be to check with those who know me to see if this seems to line up with who they experience me to be. My next point of action will be to work through how these intersect into ministry. I somewhat sense it may be in blogging or some such thing like I began over a year ago at the Titus 2 Forum. *shrug* I don't know.
Feel free to comment, of course! ;')
Blessings to you today! Thanks for reading my meandering entry!

As for my ideas...I really don't have a resource spot. I've done research for various project info online, but the projects themselves I've either found at other blogs -- which I note in my posts -- made them up or found online. I did however find some neat books this week....maybe they'll help you.
Nature in your Backyard by Susan Lang
Animals Alive ~ an ecological guide to animal activites by Dennis Holley
The last one has a ton of animals and info...and then I made up a few activities from what I wanted the kids to learn. From this book and an Eyewitness Book on Birds, I was able ot come up with several more activities on birds. Once we're done with those, we'll move on to whatever area God says. His ideas are always good!!
Feel free to take anything you like at my blog and make it your own.....no copywrite here. :)
Thanks for the special mail blessing....I can't wait! I love mail, love books and love that first 'flip through' you do when you get a new book!
WOO HOO!!!
