Welcome to My Blog!
Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for!
I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all!
This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here.
Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do!
Blessings!

Habanero Vignettes
Posted in Boy Things
Little moments in conversation with Habanero. Vignettes, if you will.
On this particular morning, I had had a very quiet introduction to the day. See my recent entry on "The Calm Before. . .". I promise you, it was quiet and still. It was much like dynamite going off.
(Silence of the morning)
Habanero: My BIRTHDAY is tomorrow! My BIRTHDAY is tomorrow!!!!
We know this. I was just shocked that this was my introduction to the second quarter of my day! *lol* Those were his first thoughts and words of the day, no lie. ;')
A second snapshot. . .
Habanero: Mom, I think it's going to be a tough life when I get older.
Me: Oh? Why do you think that?
Habanero: Well, I'll be heading into a big, new world out there that I don't know anything about. It sounds tough.
Me: Well, what we do here is supposed to help you get ready for that big world out there. I hope I'm doing a good job.
Habanero: Well, okay. It still sounds tough, though.
And another. . .
Habanero: Mom, do you think I can be a pastor when I grow up?
Me: Would you like to be a pastor?
Habanero: Yes. I want to be a pastor. I mean, they read their Bible, get up on stage, and tell people about what's in the Bible. I can do that!
Me: Oh? Do you think you'd like to do that?
Habanero: Yes, I would.
Me: Well, if God gives you the gifts you need to be a pastor, then you can do that. Mostly God likes to use people who want to be used as a pastor. Telling God you are willing, and then letting Him show you how to be a pastor is the beginning. Reading your Bible everyday is the other part. That's what gets you ready. Read your Bible everyday all on your own, and you'll be getting ready.
Habanero: Yup. I think I'm going to tell God I want to be a pastor.
(Pause)
Habanero: You don't think I would tell God I want to be a pastor and then He wouldn't give me gifts or anything, do you?
Me: No, I don't think that's what God will do. If He doesn't make you a pastor, though, He must have something even better planned. It should be fun to find out, don't you think?
Habanero: I think I'll keep reading my Bible.
