Welcome to My Blog!
Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for!
I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all!
This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here.
Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do!
Blessings!

A Boy After His Mother's Own Heart
Posted in Boy Things
You may know that I am knee-deep in the process of book edits for a friend. (Can I share that a sneak peek at a book is such a cool thing?) Anyway, as a result of my long hours with the manuscript, I am a bit sensitive to language and grammar. Know that I'm not sensitive enough to worry about my informal blog style, but I am more aware of things in my world.
Apparently, this project of mine is beginning to influence my son's world. *grin*
Habanero has been more focused on improving his reading skills. Since reading is the only thing I've been asking him to do each day, he's begun to look for all kinds of reading material. This morning he was working through the sales ads that were casually flung on the floor next to our La-Z-Boy. To get the full visual on this, imagine a boy hanging over the arm of a blue velor chair while it wildly rocks and creaks under the strain. Somehow he is able to read the most-certainly-blurred wording on the circulars.
"M-a-a-a-a-ttress. Sal . . . ummm . . . sale," he carefully sounded.
*pause punctuated by creaking*
"No, wait. They are yelling! There is an 'excamation' point. So, it's: MATTRESS SALE!"
*more creaking and another pause*
"MATTRESSES! COME AND GET YOUR MATTRESSES AT THE MATTRESS SALE!"
Yes, I may have a little Grammar Warrior in the making . . . I can only hope! *grin*
Note: Habanero's missing teeth are a challenge for words like "exclamation."
