Welcome to My Blog!
Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for!
I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all!
This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here.
Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do!
Blessings!

What Goes Up . . .
Posted in Boy Things
Like all of you, we have moments in our household that are blessings in disguise. Sometimes I'm able to spot the blessing more quickly than others. Yesterday Habanero was out playing with a friend, and he came in rather suddenly but quietly.
Habanero: Mom, I kind of have a bump on my head. I think it's bleeding.
Me: Son, are you okay? Show me.
His palm slid up his forehead, pushing his hair out of the way to reveal a bloody knot.
Habanero: You see, I had this rock. I tossed it up in the air, and I didn't know what would happen.
Me: Did you watch it go up?
Habanero: Yup.
Me: Did you watch it come down?
Habanero: Nope.
Me: Son, are you okay?
Habanero: Yeah, but it hurt.
I got a few more details over the course of the conversation. The offending rock was approximately the size of a half dollar. The neighbor girl and her three year old brother watched the whole thing. They all got a lesson in gravity. I added some extra gravity instruction for my son's future reference (not that it will be referenced). We discussed the lyrics of a song written a few decades ago: what goes up must come down . . . .
Where's the blessing, you wonder? Well, the knot is in his hairline. Thankfully, he wasn't watching it come down too closely -- lest it land squarely in his eye!
