Welcome to My Blog!

Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for! I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all! This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here. Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do! Blessings!

Kids Say the Funniest Things

Posted in Tickling the Funny Bone
We had a fabulous dinner tonight at Cracker Barrel. We haven't been there as a family for a while, probably because it's a little farther from us than "Red Headed Girl"  or "Golden Arches" fast food. So, we dined.

The Hero, being adventurous, ordered a side of okra with his meal. Okay, that works...for him.

He asked the boys if they wanted to try it and, true to form, Bell politely refused and Habanero went for it with gusto. Habanero liked it enough to eat a couple pieces, and then asked what it was.

Hero: It's okra. Do you know what okra is?

Habanero:
Yeah! I know who Okra is! She's the one with the television show, and she doesn't know who Jesus is! Am I right?

I lost it.

I left Hero to explain the difference between a veggie and a television personality. My sides hurt too much. (If it seems odd or cruel to laugh so hard at such a thing, please know I'm running on very poor sleep for the last couple of nights. I'm a bit punchy.)  ;')  It was SO funny, though. . . .

I don't like Okra and have never seen Oprah except on tabloids but this makes me hungry for Okra.

LOL!!! That is too funny! Your boys come up with the best sayings...you are so lucky!! :)
Hope you had a great 4th!!!
We did..we found a baby toad in our back yard (literally it is like 1 inch) so we took it in and got a fish aquarium & some crickets for it. The kids have different names..J has George, A has Cheeto & D has M&M. DH and I thought it would be a great science project for the kids to watch it grow and see what a frog needs to survive. It is either a Southern Toad or an American Toad (we aren't sure which yet) but they both grow to be 2-4inches big. SHould be fuN!
Blessings,
Vania

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Got to love it. My kids asked us if we could go to Cracker Barrel one day soon. I guess we'll be going next week with my MIL because she is so sweet and takes us to dinner when she comes every week. I know that I am spoiled. :-) How's your weekend going?
