Welcome to My Blog!
Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for!
I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all!
This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here.
Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do!
Blessings!

Monday's Meandering Entry
Posted in Mom Things
It's Monday. It's not just any Monday. This is the Monday that follows one of our busiest weekends ever in recorded history (of this month). *grin* As much as everything that was packed into this weekend was good and somewhat necessary, it was a bit much.
A sweet friend of mine keeps reminding me of a sweet word I probably need to look up in the dictionary: simplify. I look at some parts of my life, and I'm pretty convinced it doesn't "ooze" simplicity. No, I'm not talking about going to homesteading-type mindset. That's probably not genuinely me. Those who know me will laugh at the thought of me roughing it for any real length of time. What? No computer? No microwave? *gasp* No BLOW DRYER or CURLING IRON? Yeah, this may be one of the reasons I have not been called into certain areas of missions. *sigh* Thank you for the Savior and friends who still love me anyway.
We're trying to get into a groove. We really are. Poor Bell Pepper is feeling lousy today, though. It's just a cold, but I'm seriously considering sending him to bed. Habanero, on the other hand, is healthy and strong and highly distracted today. Ah, well. I'm as tired as they are, and I figure it's early in the year. We've tackled the Ice Age and Dinosaurs today in history. Projects to do. Time line to work on. We'll get to it, right?
I had a wonderful time percolating on Nehemiah 1 today. (See my other blog, Walking in the Word, for more on that.) The study time was a nice reminder on many levels. In addition to a prayer focus, I realized if I chose to fast, I'd have to find the most significant and meaningful thing to remove from my life. Oh dear, I was afraid it wouldn't be food. *sigh* I'm pretty sure "hard core fasting" for me would involve a computer shut down. :'O Hmmmm.
Thank you to all of you who extended your sympathies in our loss of sweet Basil-bird. We miss him. Habanero is doing his best to rebound in all of this. We are learning that, with a little hard work, our other very flighty bird can be reasonably handle-able. (Though my bathroom needs to be checked for "remnants" of said bird and boy.) Sterling is very lonely, but our nearest button quail breeder appears to be 90 miles away. *sigh* We shall pray about it.
Well, that's all I have to say for a Monday.
