Welcome to My Blog!

Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for! I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all! This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here. Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do! Blessings!

Egg-cellent!

Posted in Boy Things
Many of you may have read about our family "crisis" with a big dog and a little button quail. This has to qualify as one of the more devastating moments in the last few months here in our humble little home. The one who was most "moved" by the whole thing was my little Habanero. This was the bird that he took care of, loved, held, and interacted with on a daily basis.

That said, you're not surprised that Habanero has not forgotten our little Basil bird, and has been hoping to find another. Well, this is not an easy task. Button quail  are not exactly easy to find in this part of the world. We knew a breeder was a little less that 100 miles away, but gas prices make that a pretty expensive bird if you go to get it.

Enter my favorite place for solutions to problems like this: Ebay.

As of last night, we are the proud winners of a twelve-egg auction coming from Tennessee. Hopefully, the eggs will make it here in once piece, and we'll have the incubator ready and waiting. At least this is coinciding withh our Apologia Zoology 1 studies. There is an appropriate excuse for getting a dozen eggs, right? I'll keep telling myself this when I am swimming in bumblebee-sized quail chicks in a few weeks.  ;')

Habanero is so excited! This morning has been non-stop questions about the eggs we know very little about. Are they coming? Will he mail them today? Will he send more than twelve? How many do you think I can get to hatch? Daddy, are you excited about the eggs? I'm helping to pay for the eggs, so does that mean the birds are mine? Can I turn the eggs? I'll take good care of the eggs, so they can be mine, right?

*sigh*

I'm tired already.

Have a great day, friends! I'm off to school a couple students.  :')

Good morning~

I see that you and I shop at the same place........I BOUGHT IT ON EBAY!!!!! :D

Twelve eggs? I pray that Habanero will be a good caregive and "turner" to his little ones. What an awesome responsibility. Maybe since you got 12, they will throw in an extra one for a baker's dozen? Ooops, that didn't sound good, did it?

Praying all is well with you, your "peppers", and your DH. I have missed you!

Blessings~
