Welcome to My Blog!

Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for! I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all! This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here. Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do! Blessings!

Why?

Posted in Due to Technical Difficulties Beyond Our Control. . .
Today I had a visitor to my blog. The e-mail address in my C-box suggests this person was female. She filled my C-box window with colorful language (or attempts at such).  After contacting HSB I learned I could be basically responsible for those comments which break the Terms of Service.

I know the solution would be to remove the C-box and lock down my blog, making it near invisible. I don't want to do that.

I'm angry. I'm frustrated. I'm hurt.

Update: Prayer Request

Posted in Due to Technical Difficulties Beyond Our Control. . .
For those of you who knew in time to pray, I can't thank you enough! Your prayers, I'm certain, made a difference. Here's how it went down:

We called a guy who attends our church, and we had him take a look. (He's a plumber.) A few things were going on: sump pump gave up the ghost, drainage from the back of the house wasn't making it to the front because of a plugged line, and the sump pump drainage line that *should* run to the street drainage is, ummm, illegally draining back away from the street.

*sigh*

New sump pump and a cleared line under the house. . .

It was like the water was just TURNED OFF! We were using our steam cleaner and soaking up water and dumping and refilling buckets. . .for hours! It never slowed down. He gets the sump pump going, and the water at the back door stopped within a couple minutes!  Yay!

Now, the tricky part of all this is: our illegally draining water needs to be fixed. I will say that nearly EVERY house in this part of our block is draining in the wrong direction, though. Not sure what to make of that.

So, our biggest blessing is that we felt "wrong" about the estimate we got from the foundation guy a few weeks ago. And, the largest part of his estimate never needed to be done, per our plumber friend. That's good news!

The bad news: to fix the drainage, it'll be a costly digging deal. The trencher is $18 per linear foot. I don't know what the materials will be in addition to that.  *sigh*

Jehovah Jireh, we are looking to You for this.

Thanks, again, for your prayers, friends. I know you'll continue to pray for provision. We'd really appreciate that.

Prayer Request

Posted in Due to Technical Difficulties Beyond Our Control. . .
Please pray. We've gotten a LOT of rain overnight and today. We are basically bailing as fast as we can in the basement.  :'(

Please pray for wisdom, endurance, joy and provision for this whole thing. Pray especially for my darling husband during this process.

Thank you! I covet your prayers more than you know right now!

Tuesday Ramblings. . .

Posted in Due to Technical Difficulties Beyond Our Control. . .
Another lost post. I'm going to go cry now.

Trying again:

It's Tuesday, right? After our whirlwind four-day weekend, I'm not sure which day it is anymore. Let's see if I can boil it down to something readable.

Thursday: Rehearsal for Saturday and Sunday services. My handsome man is overseeing the first of the Good Friday services.

Friday: Puppy sitting dog comes. One Good Friday service for me and the kids. Several for my handsome man. We tumble into bed.

Saturday: Habanero is showing signs of a cold. Bell Pepper is fine. I am fine, but skip serving, just in case it will help Habanero in the long run. Habanero goes to a friend's house and is returned a couple hours later after his coughing leads to revisiting food. Handsome man has been home about an hour at that point.

Sunday: I stay home with Habanero and Bell Pepper. In my clearing fog, I notice my Saturday post (even more foggy) was inaccurate in detail. Handsome comes home, and we are ready to go see my family. (What exactly we were thinking, I don't know.) My car has a flat. His car over heats half a mile down the road. All gets fixed with a little oil and coolant, and we go. (Still don't know what we were thinking.) We made it there and back by the grace of God, I'm sure.

Monday: Near comatose day, in general. Handsome sleeps a bit. Habanero coughs a slight bit. Bell Pepper is his usual self. I am stir crazy by this point. We go to Costco to get tires. . .and find great replacements for our "Cabinet of Horrors" food storage stuff while we are waiting. Yay! We pop into Home Depot to check for "Ooops Paint" for the bathroom, but I'm not keen on "Bubblegum Pink" so we opt for another try later. We pop over to Wal-Mart for cough drops and such. Handsome finds a no-cost replacement phone for my phone that hates me and hates doing its job, and I find a replacement for the towel rack which was used as a chin up bar by a young, strappin' boy.  ;')  Then we go home.

It was a rough night last night. As well as Habanero looked during the day, his night was pretty miserable. Horizontal just doesn't work for his cough.  :'(   Please pray for him! I'm starting to feel badly that we trusted his day condition when we should have locked him in his room or something.

I need to officially say I'm sorry about the chronological error in my Saturday post. Those two disciples who met Jesus after His resurrection met him on the road on Sunday. . .not Saturday!  :'P  I knew that. You knew that. Not sure what happened, but it was likely my fog. I won't post that kind of thing again unless the Bible is open and next to my key board. Will you please forgive me?

Love and blessings to you all!
