Welcome to My Blog!

Schooling two active boys has never been more... interesting. That's the word I'm looking for! I love my boys! God has given them the blessing of strong, active bodies and minds. We continually pray the first will remain intact, and the second will remain engaged with Him first, and then the school work. You'll meet my sweet sons, both entirely different, but both loving God to the best of their ability in the way He made them. I lovingly refer to them as my Bell Pepper Boy and my Habanero or Hambone. That should say it all! This blog is an eclectic mix. The events, conversations, and the thoughts behind it all will be in here. Every once in a while I'll try to capture something I don't want to forget. I hope you find things you enjoy. Please let me know if you do! Blessings!

Site Promotion and a Giveaway!

Posted in Giveaways!
I love these things! Here I am, just surfin' the cyber wave in the Blog Universe, and I come across one of those "two-fers" you just have to add to your entries (even if it's the second post in a day). Knowing you all are patient and kind and don't mind me doubling up on entries, I thought I would add it!

SoCalVal is well known in the far reaches of the universe, but she has just begun promoting her new site that includes resources for teachers and home school moms all over this fine Blog Universe. It looks like it's going to be rich with blessings!

Doesn't she have a lovely little logo-button thing going on? Soooooo. . .pretty!

If you'd like to know more about this lovely little site or the giveaway, go HERE. Be sure to enter before April 11!

30 Day Bible Reading Challenge!

Posted in Giveaways!
I think many of us would enjoy a little fun encouragement in our Bible reading time. Wouldn't you like to begin a new consistent time with the Lord in that way? Or, if you already have regular times, wouldn't you like to enjoy the challenge of 30 days in a row. . .doing it *with* friends?

I found this, and I thought I'd tell you about it, too!

Anyone up for a challenge?  ;') It begins on April 1st and runs through the month. I've signed up HERE and I hope you do, too! The incentive I mentioned? Well, that's over HERE.

So many of the bloggers out there are such a blessing! Look how we spur one another on!  I love it!

Another Fantastic Giveaway!

Posted in Giveaways!

Yes, I've found another cool thing you can enter, if you haven't already! Take a gander at this:

Rosetta Stone has been the #1 foreign language curriculum among homeschoolers for a while -- next week they are unleashing a brand new curriculum, and y
ou can WIN the *all new* Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3… FOR FREE!

This is a $219 program (and believe me it's worth every penny!) and the winner gets to pick from any of these 14 languages: Spanish (Spain or Latin America), English (American or British), Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Irish, Hebrew, or Russian.

This will also include a headset with microphone, and students will participate in lifelike conversations and actually produce language to advance through the program.  Rosetta Stone still incorporates listening, reading and writing as well, in addition to speaking.  Many homeschoolers requested grammar and vocabulary exercises, and with Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3, they're included!  For parents, the new Parent Administrative Tools are integrated into the program and allow parents to easily enroll students in any of 12 predetermined lesson plans, monitor student progress, and view and print reports.

To win this most excellent program -- in the language of your choice -- copy these (blue) paragraphs and post it in (or as) your next blog post -- then to enter the contest, go to the original contest page HERE: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/JenIG/501132/  and leave a comment with the link showing where you blogged about it.  And please make sure the link works to get back to the original contest page when you post it.  And good luck!  The winner will be picked randomly on March 26, and will be notified thru the link they left to their blog pg.   And if you have more than one blog, you can post them and enter those separately for more chances to win.   Yay for free stuff!

Look!

Posted in Giveaways!

I know many of you are friends with Tiany, so I'm sure you know of this by now. But, I simply must share with those who have not yet made their way over there, that she has exciting news! She's offering a new "location" for home schoolers to gather and share and grow together! How awesome is that!

The contest is a wonderful, added blessing. But, surely the forum will be more awesome and, hopefully, long-lived!

Check it out!
