Professing to be Wise

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7
Meet Dr. Doom.
At the Texas Academy of Science meeting in early March, University of Texas professor, Dr. Eric R. Pianka gave a speech that should outrage anyone especially those in his own scientific community. Sadly, the opposite happened. After the camera man was instructed to turn off his camera, Dr. Pianka beganto talk about what he believed the "general population wasn't ready to hear." In his speech, Dr. Pianka said that human beings are no better than bacteria and that the human population needed to be reduced by up to 90% in order to save the earth. Here's what Dr. Pianka said according to a amateur scientist in the audience taking notes,
This is the natural conclusion to Darwinist evolutionary thinking that has permeated our educational system. God help us all.

War and famine would not do, he explained. Instead, disease offered the most efficient and fastest way to kill the billions that must soon die if the population crisis is to be solved. With human skulls on slides behind him, he went on to talk about possible methods of mass extermination with a virus like Ebola. He also spoke "glowingly" of the Chinese police state and its one child policy. And what was the response from the audience,
Immediately almost every scientist, professor and college student present stood to their feet and vigorously applauded the man who had enthusiastically endorsed the elimination of 90 percent of the human population. Some even cheered. Dozens then mobbed the professor at the lectern to extend greetings and ask questions.Later that day he was awarded a plaque for being named the 2006 Distinguished Texas Scientist. Obviously, many in the scientific community don't think this man's as nut but a credible scientist.
This is the natural conclusion to Darwinist evolutionary thinking that has permeated our educational system. God help us all.

Sounds like this guy could be best friends with Dr. Dawkins. (See www.homeschoolblogger.com/homeiscool/109191) I believe we as Christians need to get more proactive on these matters. I've been studying the subject through Answers In Genesis lately, and it is amazing how much truth there is to the statement that everything along the lines of society going to heck in a handbasket stems from the belief in evolution. Human life simply has no value, and sin no consequense if we are no better than the bacteria stuck to our shoes.
And, sorry to be nasty, but why don't these people ever sacrifice themselves for their cause, and be the first ones to go in the name of population control?? Oh, yeah, because they're better than the rest of us.
Thanks for bringing this article to people's attention, I am now going to send it to every person I know.
