I think there are much better ways to difuse the anger than to squelch patriotism. If you were to move to almost any other country, you would expect to see their flags wave, their colors fly and their citizens speak proudly of their country. Why is it any different here?

Why is our patriotism a slap in the face to those who chose to come here for a better life? My dh and his family came here from Mexico. They feel that this country has given them so much. Mexico is still dear to them, but this is their country.

Too much is being lost in the name of tolerance. Tolerance means "Lack of opposition for beliefs or practices differing from one's own". It's what people come to America for. Here different beliefs can be expressed. But that goes both ways. The majority should be allowed for voice our beliefs and practices also.

I think the key is to communicate calmly and without anger. When we communicate as passions run high we risk causing both sides to build walls. That crushes any communication and, in turn, any peaceful resolution.

I thought we were trying to teach our children about equality of races, not equality in clothing. The dress code may tame things down for a little while, but the tension is far from gone. It's not the clothes that give you your identity and what you stand for. Clothes are merely a tool to demonstrate that.

By the way, how do you get the tags to show up at the bottom of your posts?

I use a a tag generator. Here's the link

http://www.ultraseeker.com/tagbuilder/index.php

Then I go into HTML mode and type a copy the generated code into the post. After I post it I send pings. (On the control panel)

That's it and then it shows up in all the search engines.
