Homeschooling
And she even mentions The Old Schoolhouse. Go La Shawn!I'll say it again. If you can:'t afford private schools, HOMESCHOOL YOUR CHILDREN! Why wage war to recite the pledge in government schools when those
same schools teach that perversion is normal, America is racist, and Western
culture is evil?Yes, it makes the blood boil knowing our tax dollars are poured into a failing system and into the paychecks of incompetent socialists, but we need to pick our battles. The government school system is hopelessly lost. Focus on making sacrifices to homeschool your children and teach them biblical values, how to be decent people and good citizens. Let the deviants wallow in the muck they created. (Viva la
cucumber!)

i couldn't help responing and time is short (i'm out of coffee....gotta go get some :0) isn't to possible that homeschooling is the best way to educate our children ....not just a point of last resort to private school when the cash is tight? i have been in both the public and private achool arenas as a student and honestly the prblems were mostly the same. in the public school system it was harder and harder (yes even back then) to have God recognized in the schools....but equally in the private school there were some serious issues. inequality, and racism, and cliques are something that i feel are rampant in private school just as much (if not more) than in public schools...perhaps homeschooling is the best answer...not just for fighting the system but for raising our kids as well...that's my $.02 (well perhaps more like $.005 since im not caffinated and cannot tell if this makes any sense) :)

You make good sense even without the caffeine. I agree with you completely. La Shawn is in a different place. She is a policy wonk who is not necessarily looking at this from the perspective of the parent but from the position of public policy. A free society should be able to set up private schools and engage in the education of their children together. And there is always that issue of money involved in those decisions.
But we'll keep working on her and maybe she'll come full circle and see the parents perspective as the best way to look at it.
