Because La Shawn says I need one

Nov. 19, 2005 at 10:10 AM

One of La Shawn Barber's pet peeves is a blog without an "about me" link.

Sooooo in an effort to please La Shawn (who probably won't read this) and all others who care to know, here's a little about me. (And besides it's Saturday and I have a baziillion things to do today because today is Michigan -vs- Ohio State and I have about twenty people coming to watch the game and my son is turning 15 as well and so that means not only do we get to celebrate a Michigan victory but another year with my terrific son and since what is really important in life won't matter until that game is over which may be before this sentence that is going on so long that the only people still reading it are those that really want to know these mundane facts about me because all others have been run off by my run on sentence soooo.....

I will tell the few remaining people (who must lead pretty boring lives themselves because they're still reading this) and Jackie (who reads all my posts the good, the bad, and the boring) all the things about me that you never really wanted to know but that La Shawn said I should tell you so here goes! )

I'm a...

...Christian. (I hope this was obvious.)
...Daughter to the best parents in the world. (I want to be just like them when I grow up.)
...Wife to one very patient man. (Who let's me be me and loves me inspite of it!)
...Mom to six adorable Braunadoes (They're on my sidebar.)

Who...

...Got my nickname Spunky from my dad when I was 17. Somehow it stuck around.
...Holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Michigan. (which is probably more BS than CS these days!)
...Homeschools all her children. (I don't think I needed to say that either.)
...Blogs because I have 42 years worth of stuff swirling in my head that my friends have all heard so many times that I need to find a new audience for it all. (Lucky you!)
...Drinks expensive coffee when others are buying (remember I don't have a real job.)
...Believes I am totally right about just about everything I believe. Otherwise I wouldn't believe it. And if you think about it...you do too.
...Is totally normal in every way. It's the culture that's all messed up.

Lives in...
...A house that was too small the day we bought it. (No, it's not the one on my sidebar.)
...A suburb of Detroit
...The United States
...A suburb of the United Nations.

Anything else worth knowing about me really isn't so I'll end here. But if you really want to know anything else about me just ask. I may not answer but at least I'll know what else you're curious about! And as a bonus to those that read to the end here I am.

lol- thanks, Spunky! :)
My life may be boring right now (since I read your entire post), but dh is putting ds down for a nap!!! Woo-hoo! I have a minute to read ramblings!! (normally ds only wants his momma...ME)
I have to say that you look much different than I expected! In a good way. :)
(for whatever reason, I expected someone of larger frame)

And Happy B-day to your son!
Enjoy the game.

My only problem here is that one of my best friends AND my sweet sister-in-law are both HUGE, HUGE Buckeye fans. My husband and I were discussing earlier how surprised we are that our friend's son chose to get married today, of all days! Have fun - and I hope the best team wins!

I had to laugh at your comment about me being larger framed. I used to be in computer sales. A lot of the preliminary work was done over the phone. Then when the client finally met me they almost always said that they expected someone taller and larger. Not sure why they thought that but I get that comment a lot. I am actually a hair shy of 5'2".

I knew most of this already. Guess I have been reading your blogS too long :D

Also I KNOW that is the most parentheses you have ever used in a single post. Including the super long sentence that started with open parentheses but did not close!

You have inspired me (as well as my encouraging husband) to go ahead with a blog. We will see what I can commit to it. It is still under construction but come and have a look around. The picture on the banner I took in my back yard. I am a little proud of that ;)

Have a great weekend!

I left out the other parenthesis because I may want to add more to my sentence! Actually I lost count and forgot about the grammar shortly after I started. I love using parenthesis when I blog because I frequently have thoughts about my thoughts and this is the best way to indicate that. I'm sure that my mother in law and the grammar scholars out there would have a field day with my blog. I can just hear them..."And this lady homeschools!" Grammar was never my strength and what little I learned went out the window when I started learning computer code.

I'll take a look at your blog. I"m glad I inspired you! Does that make you my blog child?

I feel totally ok now, with my occasional self-serving blog entries! Golly, I might just have to go write one right this very instant. :) (oh, and I read the entire post.~ life is just a BIT too boring here, and I had to do something exciting!!!)

LOL
