Homeschooling
Court clears school of pushing religion with lesson on Islam . Any guess which court they're talking about? Michelle Malkin links to the curriculum. (PDF) here's what it said in the introduction.
The assignment was designed to last 10 -15 days and inlcuded a lesson in Muslim prayers with quotes from the Qur'an. I wonder what the Christian children were supposed to during this assignment. Their grade was dependent on their successful completion of all exercises. Furthermore, what will Christian parents and children do now that the court has ruled in favor of teaching Islam?
Should Christian children be made to "pretend" to be Islam and recite from the Qur'an in order to evangelize their fellow classmates?

This is unbelievable. DH and I have done a lot of research into the life of Muhammed (DH is writing a quasi-true fiction/thriller based on Islam and Christianity)...Muhammed was declared a prophet by someone who read the bumps on his head. His own village tossed him out because they thought he was crazy. His youngest wife was 9 years old. Need I go on...... I'm looking at the translation of the Quaran we have and the specific passage I have open tells believers they are not to seek out nonbelievers and that Allah is only compassionate towards believers. The Quaran also says "Those who have disbelieved and have acted unjustly, Allah will by no means forgive them, nor will he show them any way , except the way of h*** " (full word omitted) . Also, for those who don't know this...Rhamadan is not a religious holiday...it was a month in which Muhammad and his enemies agreed NOT to FIGHT. It gave everyone a chance to go home and be with their families. Except Muhammed didn't honor this, and he used it as a time to surprise his enemies and kill them.
If my child were in this school, we would dis-enroll them and then knock on the door of the school board and present them a lesson on Islam. We believe many people haven't taken the time to truly investigate the history and writings of Islam.
I pray that those following this religion will thoroughly read the Quaran and seek out the one true loving, compassionate Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It is his forgiveness and love that has kept me going through the good and the bad.
Thank you for posting this.

Wanna bet that this same school does "Winter holiday" instead of Christmas, because of "separation of church and state"? And that this same court would not countenance a re-enactment of the Pilgrim's arrival and the religious basis behind Thanksgiving?
Argh!

An obvious double standard being played out in our gov't schools. It disgusts me, but does not surprise me.
What would really surprise me, would be to see the real history concerning Mohommad taught. Whenever I discuss it among the secular world or Muslims, I am accused of insulting the prophet (for telling the truth). A bizarre blindness abounds among our society concerning this religion.
