Want to move to Texas?

From CBS 11 -
In a long-awaited decision, the Texas Supreme Court today ruled by a 7-to-1 vote that the current school finance plan is unconstitutional. The justices said using local property taxes to pay for schools amounts to an unconstitutional statewide tax.The state of Texas now has until June to come up with another way to fund its schools. I have an idea, how about they just get out of the education business all together. Let parents take on their rightful responsiblity and let them choose where to spend their own money.

In Texas, you educate your children as you see fit. You don't even need to notify the state of your intent to homeschool, in most cases. Also, no requirements of accountability. Their your children and the state doesn't interfere. A novel concept I'd say.

Don't mess with Texas! More power to 'em!

Ohio has been in a similar mess for Years! I don't know the ins & outs but I know that the powers that be have submitted several proposals & none have passed. As far as I know we're still doing it the "old way" even though the old way was deemed unconstitutional. So even though TX technically only has a set amount of time to come up with an alternative funding solution, if it's anything like here in OH it will take a much, much longer time.
