Lost camera finds a lost soul

This is just the the most amazing display of bad parenting that I have read in a long time. And judging by the 369 comments I'm not the only one who thinks so.
This blog is dedicated to the ramblings of a homeschooling mother of 6 in desperate need of a vacation. But since that is not currently available this blog will have to do.

Anyone with this many kids better have a good plan! This guy works hard so I don't have to!
Two great homeschool kids who took my wacky ideas and turned them into reality!

Here's a pretty amazing display of poor teaching...(editted by Spunky)
How I found this? He has a link to me, believe it or not. Yikes.

Thanks for sharing that. Yikes.
BTW: I editted the comment only because I have children who read this and I didn't want them going there. Yikes.

Outrageously amazing! So outrageous that I had a hard time swallowing it. Looking back over her blog, I can't see a reason to disbelieve the story. But I'm still having a hard time swallowing.
I would prefer to think that there are not really people so infinitely self-centered and lacking in ethics and unable to consider a situation from more than one angle. I've always assumed those attributes belonged to people with drug or alcohol addictions.

Something in me isn't buying this one. If the couple found the camera, and then told a park ranger, why didn't they hand the camera over to the park ranger? I don't think a park ranger would have said, "okay, you can take the camera home and then we'll call, and then you can mail it to them."
If they found it, and then took it home, why would they then call a park ranger?
Something doesn't add up. Either the story isn't fully told, or it's just not real.
I wouldn't post the peoples names unless I knew it was legal to do so. I'm not up on my slander laws, and I sure wouldn't want to have a thief come down on me for it!
If you find out it is true, let us know, and then let us know what we can do to warn the world of these bad parents!

I must admit my skeptical nature kicked in a little here. But then again maybe it wasn't until they got home that they called the park ranger. So turning in the camera wasn't an option.

I don't think I would publish names. The whole thing DOES seem a little weird, though. But I'm sure there are parents out there who WOULD do things like that. What's that new word? Truthiness? It has a certain "truthiness" to it, I suppose. Hence 300 + comments. It does have the air of urban legend about it, though : )

I have been robbed at gunpoint, burglarized, had multiple things taken from me without my consent and have had many reactions. The ONLY one that resulted in peace within my heart was:
Luke 6:29 If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic.
Forgiveness is the only way. Publishing their names for public humiliation and retaliation is not forgiveness. Let go of the camera. Pray that the Lord will use it to speak to them. Pray for their hearts daily (not in anger, but in true love) and let it go. It's just a thing.
