A simple yet perfect prayer
OK I swiped this prayer from Outoftheboxmom 's website because I thought it was beautiful and perfect in its simplicity. I think it encompasses exactly what each of us strive for in our endeavor to homeschool. So read on and pray with me. I promise, you'll have a little smile when you're finished. And "A Bzn Mom", thank you so much for creating such a wonderful prayer. It really has touched my heart, as I hope it will touch others.
Father, I ask that you would bless each person who reads this article. May your will be exposed to them in all areas of their lives. Open their eyes, ears and hearts to hear and see how you would have their family learn about your Word and world. Help them to see each child as the individual you have made them, and how to help them become the person you created them to grow up to be. May they yearn to enter their prayer closet, draw close to you and allow you to overflow their cup - and return often. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Good night everyone, and may God bless you all.

HI!
It is great to hear from someone in my area! First I want to say that homeschooling takes adjusting to, but it is the best thing you can do for your children. Schools here in Florida are terrible. There may be a few good ones I am sure, but the ones my children are zoned for are not.
Second, I do feel a little guilty when there are days that schooling just doesn't get done. But, I know that there are days when we will accomplish more than expected, and days that we accomplish less than expected. It all evens out. Plus, sometimes children need time to be just kids. They learn from that too.
When the kids are running wild outside pretending to be pirates and princesses, I have often delayed school and let them finish playing, because what they were doing is important too.
My advice is to just relax with it. When you are relaxed and not feeling guilty, you can do a better job at homeschooling. Plus, IMO your worst day of homeschooling accomplished more than a whole day at public school.
On those days when schooling doesn't get done, set aside some special reading time before bed, and read them stories that they love.
Good luck, and it seems like you are getting the hang of it. Hang in there and don't give up. Never give up!
God bless,
Kim
