My Top 10 Reasons I Love Home School

My Top 10 Reasons I Love Home School

10.  We can travel with Daddy when he has to travel with work.

 9.   We can go to school in our PJ's when it is cold.

 8.   We can schedule a day off on birthdays! (mainly mine)

 7.   A trip to the grocery store can easily become a field trip.

 6.   Meal time discussions are usually about the beginning of WWII,

favorite presidents, or the current books being read.

 5.   New math problems are not passed by until conquered.

 4.   I hear the first time my children read a book.

 3.   We pray together.

 2.   Their education goes beyond the surface.

 1.   A vacation to Washington DC is more exciting than a trip to

         Disney World.

This is just a fun way of saying how much I love the adventure of home schooling my children.  Yes, many days I feel so inadequate, but my children ARE learning and I mean really learning.  There is application of skills learned.  There is plenty of time spent on academics while not robbing them of being carefree children.

I gained a lot in public school, and I missed even more. My hope is that my children will be educated enough to be anything that they want to be, and have the best memories of being a child.

You forgot:
I can go to Starbucks and meet with a friend in need of a pick me up while the kids work on writing a story together at the next table.

All I can say is wow! You have summed so much up for most of us. It is nice to meet so many people that share the same desire to be this much a part of our children's educations and lives.
