a christmas rose

Merry Christmas and welcome to my Inspiration weblog, where I will be posting little tidbits like poetry, prose, and photographs that inspire me in my field: art, for both the imagination and the eyes.

As far as art for the eyes goes, I have a liking for vintage fashions; old-fashioned living; classical, Renaissance, Victorian, Art Nouveau and Pre-Raphaelite artwork and crafts; medieval illumination; Tolkien's work; and many modern photography works. (I also have a love for Beatrix Potter's illustrative and writing talent. Wonderful!)

For me, art for the imagination, as I call it, includes vivid poetry, classic novels and a few modern works, especially those of Dickens, Hugo, Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, the Brontë sisters, Shakespeare, Sutcliffe, and Jacques, to name only a few.
These works have inspired me to write my novels, which currently follow the adventures of a mouse and his friends, and his search for his identity in the midst of love, war, and a mystery that will shape his life, but it may mean the destruction of all that he loves.

Another story  of mine you may read on my other blog.

I will be back with my dreams, inspirations, and ideas. But for now, Merry Christmas!

Beautiful picture! I always find roses so inspiring! *sighs*

Hello, my name is Cherise, and even though I've had you on my friend's list for quite some time, I don't believe I've formally introduced myself! I read some of your story that you posted on your other blog, and I liked it a lot! I would like to get to know you better, and that is why I have tagged you on my blog, Poetic Voice! It's not too long, and I hope you enjoy it! (It's on the second post from the top.)

God bless you!
