Dear Lord,
It's Sunday morning and I'm not prepared to worship. I'm tired, I don't feel well, and my mind is whirring with a "to do" list for the upcoming week. My heart is not focused on You, nor is it desirous of gathering with Your people. Try as I might, I cannot muster delight for the day. I am weary, Lord.
Isa 40:28-31
28 Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the LORD,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

I need your strength, my Great King! You who never grows weary, carry me today!
Heb 2:10-12
For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12 saying:
"I will declare Your name to My brethren;
In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You."

As one whom you have redeemed and who is being sanctified by the working of Your Spirit within, I will, like my Lord Jesus, declare Your name today. Despite my emotions or lack of them, despite my failures to serve you well this week, despite my fatigue and insecurities, I will rejoice because you You Are, when I am not.

Oh, give thanks to the LORD!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!

Holy One, my heart does rejoice because of Your great love and tender compasssion. You are a long-suffering, patient Creator as you mold and refine me. Make me like You! I love You my mighty King! Oh how I love You and long to be a reflection of You! I will love Your people today because You have purchased them with Your blood. I will sing Your praises today because my worship is not based on my feelings, but on Your perfect character. I will glory in Your holy name!
