Dare You To Move
"Dare You To Move"-Switchfoot
This song is a little old, but it's one of Switchfoot's best in my opinion. There's always been something about "Dare You To Move" that I couldn't put my finger on; but I just realized that it's the lyrics. They're simple, yet powerful. To me, this song is challenging listeners to change their lives for the better; as is apparent in these three lines: "The tension is here, between who you are and who you could be, between how it is and how it should be". Wow...simple words that say so much. We're the only ones that can change ourselves, and sometimes we have to be the first one to change other things in life. It's up to us to be who we want to be, it's up to us to BE the change, it's up to us go where we want to go. Nobody else can direct your life or my life...we make our lives what we want them to be. My question to you today, dear reader, comes directly from the song: what happens next? It's up to you; I dare YOU to move. |

I definitely love that song.
Switchfoot is so awesome.
I remember when I first heard that song...
such an awesome moment.
I also remember when my friend (who is not a Christian) asked me about that line you quoted.
That was also such an awesome moment.
I can never pick favorites when it comes to great bands like Switchfoot. So many good songs. I don't know if you have their old records...but you should get them. Those are really good. A little different, which is expected, but still quite amazing. |

i likeed what you wrote but i've never heard the song and i didnt see it on your play list. but by what you said i love...
i hve resently seen some changs in myself, it sounds funny cuz im the most ratical christian my friends know, and when i told them i wanted to change cuz i dont feel im doing any good for God they couldnt understand. i think its interesting you wrote on this song at the same time im makeing mager changes if my life/faith, and i've never heard it befor witch makes it even odder.... but it cool...
