Stuck in My Head

Description

Everyone has a song that they just can't seem to get out of their heads; it's stuck. I'm one of those people, and my blog will be about those songs that I just can't seem to forget.

An Important Update

Okay, so it seems like discrimination is a hot topic in today's world. Against race, sexual orientation, religion, and more. However, nobody ever talks about educational discrimination.

Just today, my mom came across the following information regarding discrimination against homeschoolers. You see, Subway is hosting a writing contest for PreK-6th graders. On the website, it states that anyone in a public, private, or paraochial school can enter. Under this, it says that there are NO HOME SCHOOLS ALLOWED. If that's not discrimination, then I don't know what is. I know I'm too old to enter it, but that's not the point. The point is that a lot of little kids are being deprived of an opportunity to get their work recognized. And that's just not right.

As a result, tonight I'm asking everyone who reads this to boycott Subway. I will be doing so, and anyone who cares about justice in American should do so too. Even if you aren't homeschooled, do it for those of us who are. Their five dollar footlongs aren't that good anyway. Go to Firehouse, Quizno's, or Publix instead.

Thanks for listening,
Candice <3

Hi Candice,

We're aware of what Subway is doing. Last I heard they apologized, you can go to hslda.org and they should have it there. Not sure how convincing. This isn't the first time Subway has gotten themselves in hot water. I heard something about them doing a "fat Lady Liberty" out in Germany. Scholastic has apologized big time and have even offered some a free complimentary book for their kids.

I'm continuing to boycott Subway though. It seems they are having a history of getting into trouble. They need new management in corporate offices, that's for sure!

God bless!

Christine
