I am thoroughly enjoying a new yahoo group I just found.  It is a Christian group and we will be studying several books from different catagories-parenting, homeschooling, fiction.  Our group is brand new and I'm excited over the choices of books to study.   Would love to do them all, but just don't have the time with homeschooling and AWANA and my two online college classes.  I have chosen to read Charles Dickens 'Great Expectations' and Turansky/Miller 'Say Goodbye to Whining, Bad attitudes...' 

I just finished reading 'Pride and Prejudice'.  What a fantastic book!  I'm loving Jane Austen.  I've seen 'Sense and Sensability' but put off seeing the movie 'Pride and Prejudice' until I read the book.  I can't wait to watch the movie. 

Sometimes when I read a book, I have no interest in seeing the movie.  I rarely go to the movies, so I try to make the time to read the book first.  On two occassions, I've read books and could really care less if I see the movie versions.  Both have won numerous awards, but I feel that they won't do the book justice.  They are Charles Frazier's 'Cold Mountain' and 'Memoirs of a Geisha'-sorry forgot the author.  I'm excited that Charles Frazier's new book is due out soon.  Can't wait for that. 

Some other books that I've really enjoyed recently are 'Widow of the South' and 'Time Traveler's Wife'.  Fantastic books. 

Another favorite author is Debbie Macomber.  Her 'Susannah's Garden' and 'Shop on Blossom street' are wonderful stories about the friendship of women.  Very easy to read and thoroughly enjoyable stories.
