My knowledge of any kind of scouting is really poor. I participated in brownies in second grade and moved to another school and never rejoined. My hubby went thru Webelos in Cub Scouts. I had to read the manual to even find out what a Webelos is and what grade it is.
This year, Trey is third grade so he is a bear. This is his first experience with scouts and I'm trying to make sure that it is a positive one-hence me volunteering to be on the committee.
So far he has done the rock climbing and participated in one meeting. I have to say that he really enjoys it so far. I see lots of projects in the book for us to work on together-and get a little homeschooling done too of course! He worked on his cub scout promise, motto and law of the pack over and over until he could say them perfectly. I am so proud of him.
I will post of picture of him in full uniform when we get it. The store was out of shirts and belts for him. If your lucky, I may post a picture of me in my cub scout uniform too, yes, I had to get one! |
