I have been looking into lapbooking for a while but haven't tried it so far. This week, www.homeschoolestore.com is offering a free lapbook download for spiders. I of course, took advantage of the free and printed it out. Boy, does it look awesome and alot of fun. We may do it, after we finish astronomy this year.
Since we never did quite finish our dinosaur unit, I decided to purchase a dinosaur lapbook kit and a Thanksgiving one. The Thanksgiving one, I will teach next month to the homeschool kids on base. Hopefully, we'll have a lot of fun doing it and learn alot that they didn't know already.
I printed out the dinosaur lapbook and took a look at it with Trey. We are both very excited to try this out. I glued the file folders together tonight so that they will be dry tomorrow. I plan on working on the cover and part of the first file folder tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. I'm hoping it will bring everything together that he has learned. I peeked at the astronomy lapbook and may look into that project later in the year. The notebooks that we make are wonderful and have lots of great information, but I think Trey will really get a kick out of this way of learning, since he's so hands on. www.liveandlearnpress.com has a free download on an apple unit that I may work on with the girls. I think that they would enjoy it too. Or, I may get very adventurous and plan and alphabet one for them. I doubt it though, I just looked at my schedule. I thought I had another week until my class started, but it starts next week. Which means I have six weeks of three classes, homeschool, cub scouts, AWANA, and trying to get Christmas ready to go and out the door by Thanksgiving-to give extra time for the mail. Wish me luck and pray for my sanity!!
