Well, today was my birthday and it was a very nice day.  The kids made me special books and sang to me this morning.  Normally, we have cupcakes for breakfast on birthday days, but I forgot to get more eggs, so no cupcakes today.  That's okay, pancakes and syrup worked just fine.  The rest of the day went rather well.  My husband even managed to sneak in a call this morning, which was great to talk to him.  He'll be home later this month and we're all looking forward to that.   Most of my family called and it was nice to receive birthday greetings from everyone.  A friend here, even bought me a bottle of wine for after the baby's born. 

The kids wanted to go out to dinner, but they were all exhausted so I grilled steaks instead.  It was nice and we had a good dinner.  Now I'm off to clean up  the kitchen, grade and record papers and get ready for school tomorrow.  Where's the birthday fairy when you need her?
