The holidays are quickly coming upon us. What do you do special for the holidays? Make special recipes? Have a party? Spend some time at a relatives house? Or perhaps you host a holiday at your home?
Being military, we don't often head home for the holidays. Its usually too expensive to head home for the holidays so we have built our own traditions. First, we open our home on Thanksgiving and Christmas to anyone who wishes for a home cooked meal. We generally have a houseful. We play games, talk, and just enjoy the fellowship. Of course, on Christmas, our guests are recruited to help open and put together toys.
I make special recipes for Christmas. Thanksgiving is the traditional stuff. Sadly, we don't get to watch football until the day after Thanksgiving here, since we're 14 hours ahead of the east coast. The Thanksgiving parade is on in the evening and I miss not watching it while I'm cooking.
I will be sharing some of my recipes and special things that we do as a family each Thursday through the holidays. Won't you share some of yours with me and your other blogging friends?
