Holiday open house

Merry Christmas everyone!!  Thank you Tiany for holding this Christmas open house!  Please see my other posts regarding holiday traditions for Thanksgiving and Christmas traditions past and present.  I also have many recipes that I'm sharing with everyone!!  Please enjoy, we do!

.

As part of our December month, we do tons of crafts with the kids, while listening to Christmas carols of course!!

We also do alot of Christmas reading and I thought I would share some of our favorites with you!

The Legend of the Christmas Rose by William H. Hooks

The Crippled Lamb by Max Lucado

The Beautiful Christmas Tree by Charlotte Zolotow

The Year of the Perfect Christmas Tree by Gloria Houston

An Orange for Frankie by Patricia Polacco (this is a tear jerker!)

The Legend of the Candy Cane by Lori Walburg

The Christmas Story by Carol Heyer

A Pioneer Christmas by Barbara Greenwood

A Cowboy Christmas by Audrey Wood

The Stable Where Jesus Was Born by Rhonda Gowler Greene

Room for a Little One by Martin Waddell

.

Here's one of my most favorite sights at Christmas:

Trey decorating the tree

Hallie decorating the tree

Courtnee decorating the tree

Kailyn sleeping through it all.

.

Decorating is definitely a huge part of our Christmas traditions.  Some of my favorite decorations are here:

A small part of my nutcracker collection.  I have fourteen.  My darling mother in law gets me a new one every year!

A small part of my village collection.  I love my village all light up especially at night!

.

Thank you for letting me share some of our traditions and favorites with you.

Merry Christmas!!

Great Post! Kailynn looks so sweet.
Your village is beautiful.

I love the Polacco books. Orange for Frankie makes me cry, too. I hope you've gotten to read Christmas Tapestry by Polacco. It's my favorite! Another tear-jerker, but in a very sweet way.

I love how Kailynn has her arm propped up...so thoughtful looking. =)

I collect Nutcrackers too. I will probably post some pictures sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Hi there,

I am so glad you left a comment. After I saw you sign my guest book and then I had no idea where to visit you but now I do. [ 0= I loved looking at your sweet traditions of Christmas. I LOVE the Nutcracker ballet. I got to see it once and LOVED it. I use to watch it on PBS every Christmas. You have the neatest collection of nutcrackers. We still need to decorate out tree. I think we will try tomorrow.

Blessings in Him<><
