Fuji Safari Park

Posted in Around Japan

We are blessed right now to have my inlaws visiting us from the states.  Today, we took them to Fuji Safari Park which is at the base of Mt. Fuji.  We drove through the park in our van and experienced all the animals roaming around.  We drove up to the first gate which swung open and we entered Bear land.  It was very Jurassic Parkish.  There were about 8 different kinds of bears and they were all over the place.  Next was lions, then tigers, then cheetahs, then a huge area of zebra, giraffes, llamas.  It was very cool.

This is a picture of us standing in front of one of the tour buses that they have available.  This one looks like a rhino.  Its all caged and you can feed the animals through the cage.  Since it was chilly and a little pricey, we opted to just drive our van.  By the way, that's me second from the left.

If that wasn't cool enough, after we went through the park  we got out and walked some exhibits.  We got to feed kangaroos!!!  They are sooo soft!!  The kids and I were so excited!

Here's Hallie feeding a kangaroo.  Notice the little joey in her pouch.  Courtnee kept trying to feed it, but the momma kept grabbing the food.  Courtnee said, "mom, I just want to hug it!!"

And of course, Kailyn checked it all out from the comfort of daddy's shoulder!!

How wonderful to have some family visiting. Especially grandma and grandpa. If we lived overseas my family would never dream of coming to visit. My dh family would though. How cool about the zoo and being able to feed the critters! I would have been right there with your daughter - just let me get my paws on the joey! Enjoy your family and Christmas, Tammy

It's good to see that the power remained on and that you didn't get eaten by a giant mutated Panda.

What a fun place to visit! The little joey in his mama's pocket is just too cute. We have free-roaming kangaroos at our zoo, but they never let you get very close.

Your kids will have some great memories of this with their grandparents.

Great photos, too.

I wish I could convince Kyra to venture out more and see the country. She's been there since March and hasn't been anywhere really.....not even Mt. Fuji! I think her friends are going to try and drag her out over the holidays.....finally! It was great having her home and we'll miss her over the holidays. If you see her....give her a smile for me!
Ya'll have a blessed Christmas and New Year's!
