Outta the mouths of babes.....

My daughters returned from playing with the neighbors the other day.  I asked how things went, if they were polite, helped pick up, did they have a snack?  Yes, Miss Liz made brownies but they didn't taste right, she doesn't know how to make them.  Hallie told this to me with almost an angry look on her face, like, how dare she not make brownies correctly?

:)

I stifled a giggle and told them to run along and play.  I was pretty sure what had happened.  Liz has been trying that new cookbook, the one where you puree veggies and add them to recipes in order to get your kids to eat more veggies without them knowing it.  I was right, she sure had.  Her two year old went ahead and ate them, no problem.  Her older two and my two, plus her husband weren't too fond of them.  We figured that if we had started this when our kids were first learning to eat, they would eat it anyway not knowing the difference.  Of course, I don't think it helped that she used carrots and SPINACH!!  Yuck, even I wouldn't eat that!!

Spinach, in brownies...that's a little much. I have added frozen spinach, minced up, into chili and spaghetti sauce...but not a dessert.

Funny! I saw that cookbook (or one like it) and wondered if it worked.

I like spinach, but i'm thinking it really doesn't go with chocolate. I can only imagine what my Joe would have said to Miss Liz. He's not one to stifle an opinion.

I'm impressed that you are able to read so much. I have a hard time finding an opportunity where i can focus enough.
