This year, the whole family attended Cub Camp at Tama Hills. We arrived Friday night and set up. We were there for only an hour and Trey sliced his finger open. All bandaged up and ready to go, we set off to the restaurant for dinner. The next morning we woke up and got ready for opening ceremonies, Trey slipped and fell. HIs face was badly bruised, his arm was injured, his hip and knee. Thankfully, our Japanese friend was with us and she escorted me to the hospital to have an xray on the arm. No broken bones, thank goodness, so off we returned to Cub Camp. Why, you ask am I bothering to tell you all of this? Well, because I don't want you to think when you look at the pictures that we beat him, he was banged up from the fall.
Trey taking aim with the bow and arrow.

Daddy helping Hallie take aim with her bow. It should be noted here that parents participated next. I have to say, that I totally blew daddy away!!! Yahooooo!!

Checking out Mommy's bullseye. Courtnee took this picture which explains the crookedness.

See the arrow sticking out of the blue? Mine was in the yellow. He totally did not get any closer. Not that I mean to rub it in, but I will. YEAH!

I had to take pictures of this tree. The trunk was super skinny and each of those leaves are at least eight inches long. I should have stood next to them so you could compare, but they were huge. I finally found a woman who could tell me what they were-Japanese magnolia tree.

One of the projects was making ice cream for a snack. Personally, I was hoping for a nice hot fudge sundae with whipped topping.

Here's the girls making ice cream.

Daddy and his girls.

As if we didn't have enough of Trey's injuries to worry about, hatchet throwing was a big event. Thank goodness that the hatchets were not sharp at all.

Hallie even took a turn. The hatchet was heavier than she was, I think.

Daddy's little girl.

We did take Kailyn and she checked out the horses with daddy.

Trey's riding the pony. They wouldn't let the kids take out the larger horses.

And last, the Indian war paint picture. The theme was American Indians. You can see the scratches on his face from his fall earlier that day.

We packed up after lunch and waited for the rain to come before we left. We were hoping to make another campfire and roast marshmallows, but no such luck. The sky opened up at 4:30 so we ate dinner with the other campers and we took off. It poured all night and all the next day, so I was very glad that we had left. We had a very nice time, even with the rain, but have decided that if we're going to go camping, we need better supplies!! Bigger tent, more sleeping bags, better cookware and stove, and definitely mattresses!
