Here's Jonathan working hard to make another one of his books. Mongalians against the Japanese I think it is this time  . I bought him another notebook and he sat here for 3 1/2 hours straight working on it. We were going to attend a dinner theater show in town that evening and I knew he needed to swing to be able to stay somewhat calm through it so I tried to get him to head out to his swing. Swinging, rocking, etc. helps autistic kids so I always try to have him swing before we leave for somewhere as it helps us with his behavior. He's also said that swinging helps him think better for his stories. He can swing for 30-45 minutes straight sometimes. Anyway, I finally got him coaxed to go outside and swing for a little bit and then he came back in and worked another 2 1/2 hours straight through! I explained to him what an author and illustrator are and that very few people are both the author and illustrator of books. We talked about examples of each and then he realized that he is in the catagory of being both the author and illustartor :) If I had a dollar for all the "books" this kid has written...  |
