May. 28, 2009 - My son, the church pianist :)
My 14yo son recently accepted his first job as a church pianist! He began lessons at age 8 and has always loved to play. We were not seeking a job for him when this opportunity came along. In fact, he was not at all interested when the offer was first made. But we did some praying and the next thing we knew, we were at a different church and he had a job! And he loves it!

I know you are so proud! My son also started playing at church at 14. Well, he was in the Youth Band (at 12 & 13), but actually started with the main Praise Team, as their lead guitarist when he was 14. He is still playing and I'm so proud of how he is using his talent. I'm most proud of the commitment that he has made in doing this. He has to be at the church every Sunday morning at 7:00am and has never complained (for 2 years!) or tried to get out of it because he wants to sleep late. That's big for a teen! The Worship Leader is his mentor and we are so blessed by the opportunity he's had. This will be a great experience for your son.
